Question

Frontline workers Minnesota on federal return asking for EIN number. Other tax programs they don't ask for EIN number for the $487 amount. How do you get past this

Minnesota Frontline Worker Payment may not be in the correct place in the return if it is asking for the EIN.

This is the correct place to enter this payment TurboTax Online.

In the federal return:

  1. Click on  Wages & Income, on the left menu
  2. Scroll down to Less Common Income and click on Show More
  3. Click on Start or Revisit for Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  4. Select Other reportable Income
  5. Say Yes to “Any Other Taxable Income”
  6. On “Other Taxable Income,” enter MN Frontline for the description and enter the amount

To subtract Minnesota Frontline Worker Pay from your MN return if it was included in your federal return.

  1. Continue in the Minnesota return until you see the screen “Frontline Worker Pay”
  2. Enter the Payment Amount

Did exact thing numerous times and always gives me the fix federal for EIN for entry of the $487 Frontline workers Minnesota. Other tax sites I do not get this. Reached out to Minnesota and no response back from question I submitted

You must still have the incorrect entry still in TurboTax.  See How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?

From the list, look for an entry (1099, W-2) that has the information and delete it from the return.
