I had a reduction in State of CA refund said I must file as single instead of head of house hold.

I am a widow with a child.

Do I need to change something and resubmit it just says to call?

Please see this CA webpage and look at the filing statuses on the left. Especially look at Head of Household and Qualifying Widow(er).

Also, what was your federal filing status? Normally, the CA filing status should be the same as the federal.
