Getting Tax Year 2023 Transmission Error when trying to file amended return

On the first filing, which was accepted several days ago, I owed and mailed off checks. However, one form was missed and once I entered that form and amended my taxes, I get a small amount returned from Federal and State (basically taken off of the amount I owed).

When I try to submit the amended filing, I got the attached error below when I submit the efile. I am using TT 2023 Premier on Windows. I did have to file two state returns this year as I had income from one of the states as a non-resident.

Thanks.

Make sure you are using these guidelines when amending.

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted, you should follow these guidelines.

    • You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
    • You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
    • Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
    • The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
    • Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending.
    • You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment

Ahhh, I see. I will wait after April 15th to send the amendment to allow full processing of the amount I owe, etc.

Thank you for this information. It is very helpful.
