Got a letter from IRS saying child tax credits were calculated wrong and saying I owe addition tax. What is my next step?

Pay the additional tax. You probably received more in advanced child credit than you reported.

Bsch4477 is probably correct that you did not enter your advance payments correctly into TurboTax (this has been very common this year, despite the warnings from the IRS). 

 

I assume that the IRS letter invited you to reply. If you believe that your entries were correct, then you can reply with whatever evidence you have showing that you reported the advance payments correctly (assuming that this is the problem).

I had the same problem.  TurboTax doesn't have the "line 5 worksheet" for Schedule 8812 so I found it on the IRS site. https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i1040s8#en_US_2021_publink100077560

When I ran the calculations myself, using the values reported to IRS, it's clear it was the IRS that messed up. I will be contacting them to hopefully correct the problem.
