Have not received w2c yet

We were about to submit our return when we were alerted that there were two SSN's.  I thought I'd typed it incorrectly but realized that the SSN on the two W2's I have are different.  My current employer has my SSN incorrect it seems.  The question is - do I have to file an extension, or can I file with a note that a W2C has been requested and mail it in via snail mail?

It would be best to file an Extension. This would be best under the philosophy of "hoping for the best but expecting the worst". If the W-2C comes in with yet another error, you do not have grounds for not having filed on time, therefore running the risk of a Late Filing Penalty.
