Question

Hello I received my state refund but not federal it was supposed to come in on the 5th of March. I filed my taxes on 02/12/21. Its been a long wait since now it is 3/20

TT refund dates are just estimates, based on the usual IRS goal of 21 days. But this year has turned out to be very unusual.  The IRS is seriously backlogged because of all the extra stimulus filings, as well as a few million unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  In addition, the Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable.  But if TT told you the IRS has Accepted your filing for processing, then the government has it.  (Approved is a later step, but TT receives no further updates once Accepted. Calling the IRS will not help, either, and the IRS has implored taxpayers not to call them.)  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient. Also see:

Although the IRS has started issuing Stimulus payment #3, it will take a few weeks to get them all out. This one comes separately, not as part of your 2020 tax refund. You can check your status here:
