After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

"Accepted" and "approved" are not the same thing. Accepted only means that the IRS has your return.  Now you have to be patient and wait while the IRS processes your return and approves and issues your refund.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.

No, the fact that it is being processed means it has been accepted.

Accepted means the IRS has received your return and has done a basic computer check that didn't detect any signs of fraud or obvious errors.

The next step is processing, which usually takes about 21 days.
