You have 3 years from the date you filed your return or 2 years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment. After April 15, 2018, you can no longer amend your 2014 tax return, for a refund.
If you owe more tax on your 2014 return, file your Form 1040X and pay the tax as soon as you can to avoid possible penalties and interest from being added to your account. Use IRS Direct Pay to pay your tax directly from your checking or savings account.
