Question

HI - I need to file a 1040-NR, but do not need consultancy - can I just use turbotax, or do I have to go to Strintax?

You cannot use TurboTax if you need a 1040NR

NON RESIDENT ALIEN

If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax.  You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:

TurboTax does not support IRS Form 1040-NR.

You are free to using any service available to assist you in completing the 1040-NR.

Or you can use the IRS website for the form to complete, print and mail the tax return yourself.
