How can I change my 2020 tax return because I didn't put in that I was owed the 1200 how can I amend it to put that in

I've already tried to mend it but the question never comes up

the question is under "Federal Review".

It will ask for the amount that you did get already, which in your case is zero.

On your amended return Form 1040-X, your stimulus payment should show on line 15.

Enter stimulus in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to stimulus
