How can I get the 2nd free state with my 2nd copy of Turbotax?

I got Premier to use with MD taxes and Deluxe to use with PA taxes but I can't download PA without paying , what do I do?

Sorry that won't work. Maybe if you install it on another computer. But if you need the second state for the same person you can't do that.

What? Sure hope you have not opened or installed either of those programs yet because you need to return one of them to the store. There is no reason to purchase two copies of desktop software. First of all, you cannot even install two copies of the same tax year desktop software to the same computer. Second, it is totally unnecessary.

With desktop software you get up to five free federal e-files--more federal returns can be prepared if they are printed and mailed. If you purchased Deluxe with a state program then that takes care of State #1, and you can just add the software for a second state. No need to purchase another CD.

Or----did you purchase a version of Deluxe with NO state included? Retailers sell Deluxe with and without state software because there are some states with no state income tax.

You should use your Premier software that has one state program with it already and just download an extra state to it. When you prepare returns using that software you can choose which state return you need to prepare.
