Do you agree with what the IRS is saying, or do you need to amend (not edit) a return that you filed?

What did they change?   You might not need to amend or fix anything.  The IRS adjusted it for you.  How much more do you owe?

The 2 most common reasons this year is you entered the wrong amount on line 30 for the Recovery Rebate Credit (3rd Stimulus payment) or line 28 for the Child Tax Credit.  Those lines are just if you didn't already get the full amount or qualify for more.  The IRS knows what they already sent you.

A lot of people answered the questions wrong and tried to claim the credits again.  Double check your bank statements and Check your IRS account (both accounts if married)

If you made a mistake with the recovery rebate credit or the child tax credit, and the IRS adjusted your refund, you do not have to amend your tax return or "re-do" it---you just have to pay the tax due.  It will have no effect on your 2022 tax return that you prepare next year even if you transfer the tax file when you start the next return.

@seabourn1000 - if you need that sort of help, you may want a local tax preparer to review what you did.

Follow the instructions in the letter from the IRS closely.

if you agree with their adjustment, just do what they say/

if you think there are ways of reducing your taxes, then having someone who has more knowledge than you might be the path to take.
