If you set up payment you can check your bank statement and see if that amount was taken out the date you selected (see steps below to check date and account you set up).

If you did not schedule an automatic withdrawal for your state tax payment you can  contact your state Department of Revenue or mail a check instead.

You can check if you setup an automatic payment :

  • Sign into your Online account.
  • Go to My TurboTax on the top left.
  • Then select My Tax Timeline
  • Scroll down to Some Things You Can Do and select Download All forms and worksheets.
  • The scheduled payment is found on the State Information Worksheet-Part V.

If you selected direct debit but did not select a date then the default payment is 04/18/2017.

Is there anyway to cancel that direct debit if I made a mistake on my state taxes and need to amend them?

If you need to cancel a direct debit, you can follow the instructions here

There is no way to do so within Turbo Tax, but you can reach out directly to the IRS.
