She just recently got 17 thousand dollars from the irs so it appears she got the money from the taxes and the stimulus check. When I filed i didn't file with her but I did split the money with her acct. Then the amount she got for taxes was more than what we would have split. The irs isn't letting people call in and it showed my address as her claimed head of household. What do I do? How do I figure this out.

1. The IRS investigates missing stimulus checks when a payment trace is filed. Check out this link for more information about how and when to do this: Economic Impact Payment Information Center — Topic F: Payment Issued but Lost, Stolen, Destroyed or Not Received | Internal Revenue Service.

2. To claim head of household, the person must provide more than 50% of the children's support.

It appears you each have already filed. If that is true and you qualify for a different filing status, the only way to change your refund would be to amend the tax return. It can be e-filed but will take 12 weeks or more to process.
