First of all, what years are you referring to as "last year" and "this year"? Are you asking how to check if you applied a 2018 refund toward your current 2019 tax return?

If that's what you are asking, the best way and most definitive is to look at last year's tax return to see what you did with your 2018 refund and if any or all of it was applied toward 2019 taxes.

If you DID apply the 2018 refund toward 2019 taxes, and if you are in the same account as last year, then that information from 2018 should have transferred into your 2019 return when you started it.
