How do I confirm that my amendment can be met through e-filing or does it require a check-based payment?
Your federal tax return (Form 1040-X) shows a balance due of XX. Mail your completed Form 1040-V with included payment made payable to the United States Treasury. Make sure you sign your check and write your social security number and "Form 1040-V" on the check.
This is what the TurboTax return doc shows. But I have already provided my bank account details on the form and had opted for the efiling instead of check based payment. Also authorized federal to deduct from my bank account. Should I still be sending a check?
