My rental house due to a death was stepped up with a new date placed in service. I was able to edit the federal worksheet, but my state worksheet still has the old date placed in service. How do I correct this date?worksheet, but it

Your state tax return is prepared by transferring your federal information into it. You can try deleting your state return and then redoing it.

That worked great!. Now it's correct.

 

I had previous called the TurboTax help line. That person stated that she was not a CPA, but the information on TurboTax was correct, because there were no known issues with the state returns. It was not correct, and she would not even entertain the possibility of a potential error.

You can edit/enter a tax form by:
Open (continue) your return if you don't already have it open.
You may need to click on the orange button “Take me to my return”
Search for the form you want to change (e.g., W-2, 1099-R, etc. -- upper- or lower-case, with or without the dash).
Click on the Magnifying Glass icon (or just hit Enter key).
Click the "Jump to" link highlighted in Blue.
On that form’s summary page, you can Edit (or Revisit) your current information.
