How do you amend only the State return and not the federal return? I am only seeing a wait until a Form1040X is available for the federal return, but I only need State.

You do need to go through the Federal amend process before amending your State return (even though you're not going to file the Federal Amendment).

However, if you already filed a return for 2020, wait until your Refund is received before preparing and mailing your Amended Return.

It takes several weeks to process an Amended Return.

You have up to three years to Amend Your Return.
