How long does it take before you know if you were approved for the Refund Advance? The IRS accepted my federal return on 1/17/25?

This will be my 3rd year getting the Refund advance. I have an account with Credit Karma already. Last year it was deposited within minutes of the IRS accepting my taxes.

Same think with me? I completed them 1/13, got the notice they were accepted 1/17, but no advance (for which I was approved within the process of completing my taxes. I called TT, got runaround and then told to call CKarma, from whom I also got runaround and pointed back to TT. I called TT the next day (after spending 2 hours on calls the day prior) and FINALLY reached a more experienced customer service person who said to watch for it around the 27th, when the IRS officially opens up "acceptance" of tax returns on e-file. She said she couldn't be certain that this was at-issue, but in going through my file and the approval, that this seemed the most glaring hurdle to my advance -- that the IRS wasn't officially open yet, so THAT date of 1/27 could be the trigger for everyone. So, I'm waiting with you!

This is weird cause the IRS didn't officially start accepting returns until Jan 27th of last year. Yet mine was filed and accepted on 01/19/24 and the advance was deposited into CK account within a minute of that.

I called TT and they said I was showing as a paper check. I told them no that's for my State only. I looked all over my account to find some kind. of paperwork (cause I had to sign all kinds of stuff) and can't find anything anywhere regarding my filing method. TT said I was denied the Refund Advance then, but then I remember reading somewhere that when it's officially approved I will get an email with the refund advance amount I was approved for. I have not received that email so fingers crossed its delayed because it's a banking holiday or something. Cause 27th is not minutes after being accepted.

Sometimes the IRS does some early testing of returns. If yours was accepted early you would still have to wait until after the 27th of January for the refund advance.

I think you should have gotten it already. I also filed on the 17th, but did not accept us yet

Still nothing here either. No email from Credit Karma regarding an approval or denial. Previous years got the email from them right before advance was posted to the account after IRS accepted it. Same with year before last. I tried to find the documents that I had to e-sign for filing etc. and was told you can find the Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2024 Federal Tax Return to verify the method I selected to receive my refund. I went to Print center and selected to Include government and TurboTax worksheets (which is where someone said it was) and I do not see anything regarding the filing instructions. I want to know where the documents are that I had to consent to with my e-signature.

On the plus side, my State return was accepted today. 🙂

Same here! Fed was accepted 1/23 state 1/25 but no advance today lol.

I would love to know too. I got my advance last year within a few hours of my taxes being accepted. This year they were accepted yesterday around 3:15pm and still no sign of my advance. So I don't know what is going on. But I'm worried because as a widowed single mom of 3, I desperately need that advance.

I was just informed from a TT representative that if you did not receive an email saying specifically "congratulations on your refund advance" then most likely it has not been approved. They are using a different bank this year and TT claims that even though we are getting the "congrats" on turbo tax, its only a PRE_APPROVAL 😫 and once its submitted to the bank the bank is denying it. TT is gonna have a LOT of upset people this year

So, here the newest bullsh** they are telling me, I called yesterday afternoon to TT and the Representative told me that there will not be an advance or even an approval/denial until the IRS APPROVES my return, so not just accepts but actually approves it! That is the first time in all these messages and talking to a Representative from every company Intuit Owns and some that someone has said anything about complete approval from IRS! I'm stuck at this point or I would have definitely filed my return thru another provider by now! Intuit has proven they they are dishonest, manipulating people that are in need for whatever reAson and instead of just telling us nope your screwed, they want to drag **bleep** along until I get my actual return!

That’s so stupid!! Once the IRS approves it, they schedule when it’s going to be deposited into your account! So basically, you are getting it potentially 5 days in advance, not an advance advance. 😆

I got accepted today but no advance offered? I got a note at 10:48 pm stating my intuit and credit karma accounts were now linked .. prior to that credit karma said I haven’t consented to sharing information with Turbo tax so I still don’t have an email for the advance which I received the past two years.. anyone else having problems
