There is not a direct deposit of a tax refund from an Federal amended tax return, Form 1040X. The refund is sent in the mail to the address on the amended tax return.

Your refund for an amended return will be a check they mail to the address on your tax return---not a direct deposit. And you can expect it to take months. The "normal" 4 months has been taking much longer during the pandemic.

When the IRS finally opens its mail and begins to process mailed returns you can check the status on the IRS site.
