The remainder of your refund will be processed as usual; an offset shouldn't delay it.

Well the offset is delaying my refund. My DDD was 2/22... and I haven’t received anything!

My refund was accepted 2/23. I have an offset as well and have not received my return yet.

My student loans were offset last year and took all of our refund. I still owe a little more which is expected to be offset again this year. (I never received a notice of the offset from the start so I thought it was taken care of, big mistake on my part for not checking into it) We are expected to get back more then what is owed. How long can we expect our return to be delayed?

An offset can delay a refund by a couple of weeks ... just watch for a release date on the IRS site ... check only once a day :  https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Its 2020 and I have an unemployment offset as well. Just called the offset hotline and it said it'll be paid on February 26th so from reading these comments I hope my refund isn't delayed.

If you check the IRS site this is probably the message you got ... check back every few days for an updated report.

I knew my taxes were to be offset and the adjusted amount that I would receive. As well as when it supposed to be deposited to my bank account. February 26 2020 has come and gone. I rechecked the where’s my refund tool and it says 0.00 adjusted amount and that my taxes has been offset to satisfy a debt. The amount I was expected to receive is no longer there!! How can that change?? This is so confusing!!! Where did my balance go?

I received a letter stating that I'm still owed a refund, even after being offset in the mail. How long will it take to come because I used direct deposit?

Usually the refund is in the bank before you get the offset notice ... but these are not normal times ... be patient and watch the IRS site here :  https://www.irs.gov/refunds

The state took 1310.00 of my refund and that was February 26th and the irs website still showing my refund hasn’t even been approved. I have no information. So yes it does cause a delay.

If you call the telephone number for the refund offset, they can look up both social security numbers to see if you have an offset.

The Where's My Refund website will then let you know it is offset by using tax topic 203.

Might not want to hear it but I heard from child support that after they take what I owe then they send remainding balance to the irs treasury and then the treasury holds it 160 days before mailing it back to me in a check.

Then some one mentioned that I need to contact the people who took the money I owed by certified mail asking for them to give me back the rest of my money. Because if I dont, afterwards they send it back to the treasury. And anyone can put in a claim the money if I  owe them and they put in a claim first.
