How to add a dependent that's been living with you for 3 years

It depends.

If you are trying to claim a dependent that was claimed by someone else when they shouldn't have been, the only way to file your return would be to mail it in.  You would not be able to e-file as your return will get rejected as the dependent has been listed on someone else's return.

To print out your return, sign into your TurboTax account. 

1. Select File. 
2. You will follow the steps until you get to Step 3. 
3. On this screen, be sure to select you want to File by Mail.

This will allow you to print out your returns with filing instructions so you can sign and mail in your returns.

The IRS may delay any refund while it attempts to verify who is entitled to the deduction.
