how to amend my taxes without turbo tax saying i owe money because i am due a refund from the irs

i put in the wrong amount claimed for federal so i need to amend i spoke with an agent and they said its saying i owe money when i try to do it online because their online software is thinking i received my taxes. i need to know how to file without it saying i owe the money when i am due a refund from the irs and i haven't received my initial refund its still processing
