I filled a tax return yesterday using by W2 form which was accepted by the IRS. Today I have been notified that i shouldn't have been allowed file a tax return on this website because I am not a US resident. I was working in the US on a J1 visa for two months this summer past. I am looking for help in cancelling my tax refund as I am not a US resident. Thank you

Sorry---e-filing a tax return is just like putting an envelope in a U.S. mailbox.  You cannot get it back or cancel it.  You will have to wait and see if it is accepted or rejected.  If you are lucky--in your situation--it will be rejected and then you can proceed to file correctly using sprintax.   If it is accepted, you will have to wait and amend later after it has been processed.

If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax.  You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:

Seek advice from sprintax as to how you will need to proceed.
