I accidentally filed as a dependent. Do I need to amend or will the irs know that no one claimed me?

the IRS will not know because it may assume the party claiming you has not yet filed. this may prevent the IRS from sending you the stimulus check assuming you would otherwise qualify.  it depends on when they process your stimulus payment.  if the 19 return isn't process by then it'll go off your 2018 return.   as to whether you need to amend,  it would depend on the stimulus payment and/or whether there would be changes to your 1040 if that box was not checked.   If you get your stimulus and your 1040 return doesn't change, I would not file an amended return.
