Unfortunately, the only way to "fix" an (innocent) inaccuracy like this is to amend your original tax return, after that original return as been processed by the government.  Once a tax return has been filed (either electronically or on paper), it cannot be recalled or returned for updating.  The analogy here is much like dropping a letter into a sealed postal mailbox:  after  something goes in, it can't be taken back out again.

But before you begin with an amended tax return, please know that you'll need to first wait until your original tax return is completely processed, and your original tax refund is sent to you.  That will probably take a few weeks, at minimum.  After that time you can then print and mail in your amended return.  And yes, amended tax returns must be printed on paper and physically mailed; they cannot be e-filed.

If the "blind" checkbox was selected on your federal tax return, in addition to your Oregon tax return, then you'll need to amend both tax returns separately.  If the mistake was just on your Oregon return, then you'll only have to amend just your state return.

For further information on amending, please find below a link to a TurboTax webpage for the current year amendment process.  We will keep that page updated throughout the tax filing season.

Your situation will take some time and effort to remedy properly, but it can be done.  Unfortunately, as we noted in the beginning, there is no easy shortcut or way around the amending process.  It is slow and sometimes cumbersome; but it is the only avenue open to us that allows for the correcting of an (already filed) tax return.

Thanks for asking your important question.
