Question

I accidentally submitted my return without even completing the w-2 part. I reported no income or anything else from my w-2. Will the IRS accept the return with no income?

Well you could not efile a zero income return so I suspect the return had other income on it. So yes, the IRS will process the return without the missing wages so if the return is rejected then you can make the needed corrections and resubmit the return.

However, if the return is accepted you MUST WAIT until the original return is fully processed and you have received the original refund ... only then can you amend the return which must be mailed in.
