Question

I accidently sent in my injured spouse form before I filed. IRS says I'll get my refund in 2 more days. That's only 2 weeks from filing, why not the 11 weeks I was told?

It sounds like the IRS may not have matched your Form 8379 to your Tax Return yet and is processing your return without that information.  However, in recent years, the IRS has become much quicker in the processing of Form 8379, so it is possible your return has been processed properly, including the Injured Spouse Allocation.

I would recommend waiting to see how much of your refund is released and then contact the IRS if the entire refund was offset. It may have caused some confusion with the IRS when they received your Form 8379 but couldn't find a return to match it with.  You can contact them at (800)829-1040.
