Just because you can order a transcript does NOT mean your return has been processed or that a refund has been released or a date for release set.... that is an old wives tale.  Even if you have a date posted the IRS can still stop the refund to audit the return.

The IRS was not going to start processing returns until the 29th and refunds were not expected until 2/7 or later however this government shut down may effect that time table if it lasts for more than a week ....and don't be surprised if things are delayed much longer as the employees play catch up after the time off and begin returning to the job   ...

Do I still have to deal with my taxes?

Of course! Though the bulk of IRS employees have been furloughed (just like they were in 2013 ), you're still responsible for filing your tax return. And if you're expecting a refund, it might well be delayed.

AND the IRS will hold all 2017 tax returns that have a tax refund which includes EIC and/or the Additional Child Tax Credit util mid-February. They will release the tax refunds in late February if there are no errors on the tax return.

From what I was told at the IRS. If your transcripts are available to order that means that they have already processed you taxes. Now that is not to say you will get your refund before the 27th of February. Due to the law they will not be releasing d's until that time so we have to sit tight.

so after you were able to get your transcript for 2017, was it soon afterwards that you received your ddd. I am wondering because I file on February 8th and am trying to see as to why it is still under review.
