I am trying to amend my Tax return and i need to file head of household but it is not giving me that option.... What did i do?

If you are eligible to file as Head Of Household, you will need to go back through the "My Info" interview.

If the program is not giving you that option, there is something you need to change in your interview or you need to add the dependent.

"Head of Household Generally, you may claim head of household filing status on your tax return only if you are unmarried and pay more than 50% of the costs of keeping up a home for yourself and your dependent(s) or other qualifying individuals. For more information see IRS Publication 501. "

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your filing status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?

A 1040X cannot be e-filed. It must be printed and mailed. It will take about 4 months for the IRS to process an amended return. It is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it, like UPS or certified mail, so you will know it was received.
