I answered a question incorrectly which caused line 6b to be incorrect, what do I do

    Line 6b on your Form 1040 shows how much of your Social Security was taxable.  What question do you think you answered incorrectly?

    You can go back to your TurboTax screens that deal with Social Security and review and/or adjust your answers.

     

    To get back to your TurboTax screens, you can :

     

    1. Open your return.
    2. To go to the Social Security input screen you will:
      • If you are using TurboTax Online/MobileGo to SSA-1099.
      • If you are using TurboTax DesktopClick on "Search" on the top right of your TurboTax screen and type "SSA-1099" in the search bar, then select the "Jump to SSA-1099"

    You can review your input screens and make any changes necessary.
