Question

I chose direct deposit for my refund but the IRS website "where's my refund" states that it will be mailed by the 26 but I did not choose my refund via mail.

If any of the direct deposit information was inputted incorrectly, your financial institution may reject the funds.  In this scenario, the IRS will issue you a paper check and mail it to the current address on file.  Learn more in the following IRS article:  https://www.irs.gov/faqs/irs-procedures/refund-inquiries/refund-inquiries-18

You can also contact the IRS directly at 800-829-1954.

Wondering what ever came of this as it happened to me this year for 2018 tax period. Was it glitch on WMR and you did actually get refund via mail or DD? HOPING it was a WHERE'S MY REFUND issue and bad information.
