I claimed my son on accident. I have to amend my return. Should i wait to e-file or mail it? what should his father do? wait to file or mail it in??

I didnt mean to claim him but i did on accident (i know i should be more careful but it was my first time filing on my own and i make a fluke) i cant just pay him what i got for him because i didnt even claim him correctly. I dont know what to do. E-filing was supposed to be ready March 25th but its still not ready. The father is getting ready to mail his return in but im nervous it will get kicked back and i dont want that to happen... what should i do??

Wait - no rush. It will take at least a year for the IRS to match his return with yours and amended returns are taking 6 months or longer to process because of the IRS backlog.
