When did you do that?   Did you actually file a tax return with all of those W-2's----or are you somehow still trying to work on it?  Please explain clearly to us what you have done.

Last year during tax time I filed my 2019 taxes and it asked if I had another W-2 I wanted to add and I said yes and I put in the 2017 W2 information. I already filed my 2018 in 2019 but I never filed my 2017 so I added that to the 2019 taxes last year. Now it's saying that it needs my 2017 or i owe taxes

Ok so you need to amend your 2019 return and take off the 2017 W2.  Did you use the Online version?  How to amend 2019

Then you DO need to file an original 2017 return.

Or How to prepare a prior year return

You can only buy the download for prior years. You have to buy a separate program for each year. They only sell the last 3 years. You need a full Windows or Mac computer to install it on. You can buy any version. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions. Buy the download here

If you have a simple return, you can fill out the blank forms by hand for free.

Prior year returns can only be printed and mailed. When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. And don't forget state.

Important! Mail Federal and State in separate envelopes and mail each year in separate envelopes.

What did you combine them on?  Your 2019 return or now on your 2020 return?  Do you need to file 2017 and 2019?  If you entered them into the current Online version and haven't filed it you can try to clear and start over to use it for 2020.

Are you doing that online?   Online is ONLY for 2020 tax returns and you should receive your 2020 W-2 by Jan 31, if not received by Feb 14 then contact your employer.
