I did an amendment due to receiving a 1099-C after I filed. The refund now shows "$0". Does this mean I owe back the refund I received?

I did an amendment due to receiving a 1099-C after I filed.  The refund now shows "$0".  Does this mean I owe back the refund I received?  My original return gave us a refund.  Now that I filled out the info with this 1099-C it is showing $0, does this mean that we owe back all the refund we received?  Or do I just print out this amendment and mail it off to the IRS with no money?

Make sure your 1099-C is entered correctly.

The "$0" is based on your original refund/tax due.

Example: If your refund on your originally filed return was $1000 and your amended refund is $0, then you do not "owe back" any part of your original $1000 refund.

If you owed $100 on your amended return, you "owe back" part of your $1000 refund (netting you a $900 refund after amendment).

If you owed $1100 on your amended return, you "owe back" all of the original $1000, plus an additional $100.

The "starting point" on an amended return, is your original refund/tax due as originally filed.

Thank you for answering so quickly.  Based on your examples, it appears we owe nothing.  The result page states "We don't detect any differences from your original return and amended return. If you're sure you need to amend, please explain why."  Don't I still need to file an amendment because the IRS received this form and I didn't claim it originally as I didn't have it.
