You must wait 3 weeks after mailing an amendment for it to register in their system.  After that time you may check your status here https://www.irs.gov/filing/individuals/amended-returns-form-1040-x/wheres-my-amended-return-1

Be advised an amended return can take up to 20 weeks to process.

Amendments are not accepted by the IRS through E-File. In order to complete the filing of an amendment Form 1040X must be mailed along with any supporting documents to the IRS.
