Question

I did my amended return over 6 months ago and still hasn't registered with the IRS, how long does it take for amended return? Can't get in touch with IRS either

For which tax year, 2019 or 2020?  

The 2020 tax return could not have e-filed until mid-January 2021 and the IRS did not accept any 2020 federal tax return until late January 2021.

You should not have amended a 2020 tax return until the original 2020 tax return was processed by the IRS and you either received the federal tax refund or the tax owed were paid and processed by the IRS.

 

The IRS is taking anywhere from 4 to 6 months and longer to process amended tax returns.
