Question

I entered my sons w-2 on my 2024 return. It has been “accepted “ by the federal and “pending” on the state. Can I amend this?

You will need to amend.   But not yet.   You will have to wait for the IRS and state to fully process the return.   Then  you can file an amended return to delete the W-2 that should not have been on your tax return.  The forms you need to amend will not be available until late February---you will use a 1040X for the federal and whatever form your state uses for an amended state return.

Meanwhile.....your dependent can file his own tax return to seek a refund of tax that was withheld from his paychecks.   He must say on his own return that he can be claimed as someone else's dependent.
