Question

I entered state taxes I paid for the wrong state (CO instead of CA) and filed my federal return. It has been accepted. Do I have to file an amended federal return?

No, you don't have to file an amended federal income tax return because the state income tax paid amount is correct. For federal tax purposes, it doesn't matter what state you enter as long as the amount reported on your W-2 is correct. It also does't affect your refund or balance due amount.
