Question

I filed 2/26 My e-file was accepted 3/1. I have yet to receive anything and the IRS website shows its still processing, but the state has debited my account. Help!

The Federal and State taxing authorities each process their own returns independently of each other and if you owed the state you had to make payment arrangements which you did it seems but at no time was the federal refund guaranteed to come in before the state debited your account. Sadly the IRS is way behind in processing returns for various reasons so all you can do is check the IRS WMR? tool once a week until you see the refund was approved and sent.
