Question

I filed an amended return for 2023 on May 14, 2024. It was accepted and entails a refund. When do you think it might be paid?

My original 2023 return was filed in March.

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

Per the IRS, a federal amended tax return can take up to 20 weeks to process and maybe longer.
