I filed by mail in April and have only received my State tax return. I did receive my federal return form in July/August back in the mail because I missed a signature. I signed it and mailed it back right away but haven’t received my federal return. I called the IRS and they said to just wait. Why else can I do!? I’m expecting $2400.

There is really nothing else you can do but wait. The IRS stopped opening the mail for several months and it piled up in trailers. Now they have over 11 million pieces of mail to open and process. We have no way to know where your envelope is in that pile, You will have to just check the IRS refund site and watch for anything to appear there that shows that your return is being processed. And if you are tempted to send in another copy--don't. The IRS specifically says not to send in your mailed return again.
