I filed by mail my 2018 taxes this year (2020) using the 2018 TurboTax software I downloaded from the website. How do I know if my return was accepted or not?

After you mail in a prior year tax return you won't be able to track it online with the IRS to see if they accepted it. That service is only available for the current tax season. Typically you would need to call the IRS for status but per the IRS you won't be able to right now. They are currently not accepting live phone calls or processing paper tax returns.
