Your question is unclear, but I'll try to answer it.

    • I expect that the $25 you paid was to electronically file a state tax return.
      • This will not be refunded. It's payment for the service of filling the return electronically
    • Filling your tax return electronically is faster than mailing it in.
    • I don't understand the comment "even though legally I can’t".

Please contact us again with any additional questions or to provide some additional details.

    I PAID $25 FOR A 5 day early refund

TurboTax has NO control over the amount of time it can take the IRS to process your tax return and issue your refund.   TT gives you an estimated refund date based only on a 21 day average, which is not a promise from TT or the IRS.

Has the IRS accepted your e-file?

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Has the IRS processed your tax return and provided an issue date for the refund on the IRS refund site?   If so, count backwards on your calendar for those five days and hope for the best..

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Are you subject to the PATH act which means if you are getting earned income credit or additional child tax credit they are required to hold your refund until February 15?

    https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/irs-tax-return/what-is-the-path-act-and-how-may-it-impact-your-...

If you are subject to PATH, do not expect your refund before early March.  Be very pleasantly surprised it it comes sooner.

The "5 day early" offer says that if your refund does not come five days before the date the IRS gives you, you will not have to pay the $25.    Do not use the estimated date that TurboTax gave you for this.

Yes, same here so I was just thinking about it. How are they going to give us our refund 5 days early if legally they can't. And I paid for my taxes out of my own paycheck instead of having it taken out of my federal so I'm freaking broke. I just got fired yesterday. Lol So me paying them $160 that they weren't even supposed to charge me because I didn't want the services they tacked on there and then the extra $25 to get the payment faster 5 days faster by using credit karma instead of direct direct deposit.

So yeah I think TurboTax is going to owe me some money. Especially since I did not ask for this. All I needed was a simple 1040. That's it  I needed nothing more than that  And somehow it went up to $160 without my knowledge. Call me
