Question

I filed March 31 and still have not received my federal refund and I have never applied for any of my stimulus checks nor have I ever received any of them?

first, if you did not receive any of your stimulus checks, go back and look at Line 30 of both your 2020 (first two stimulus payments) and 2021 (3rd stimulus payment) tax returns. 

 

You are eligible for the stimulus or the Recovery Rebate Credit (which is Line 30), b ut not both.

 

the IRS remains backlogged so your wait isn't unusual.  If you paper filed, figure it'll be 6-9 monrhs from the end of March until you hear anything.
