I filed my 17yo high school sons taxes. I support him full time. Shouldnt he get all that he paid in back?

It depends.  Since he is your dependent, he does not get to claim his own exemption, which means that if he earned more than $6300, he might not get all of his Federal Tax back.  (No matter what the income, he does not get Social Security or Medicare taxes back.)
