I filed my taxes 4 days ago and today I received a 1098-T. Do I need to file an amended return? In box 1 it shows payments received were $8562 and in box 5 it shows a grant amount of $8341. What do I do?

Can I enter a mock amended form just to see the outcome or do I need to wait until next month?

Try using our TaxCaster and see if it makes a difference. Please don't make changes to the return now. https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/calculators/taxcaster/

You don't have to report it, but you should, because it could qualify you for a larger refund. If you have already e-filed your return and it's been accepted, the next step is to amend your return after you get your refund.

The form to amend your tax return will be available sometime next month. The information below will update and explain how to amend your return once the form is ready.
