Question

I filed my taxes back in May/ accepted. I no longer use the bank account, but I still never got my paper check. Identity issues- Cant reach IRS?

Has the IRS issued the federal tax refund?  What is the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

 

If the IRS website indicates Issued, then -

If the account for direct deposit is not available the bank will reject the deposit.  The refund is sent back to the IRS and the IRS will mail the refund as a check to the address on the tax return.
