I filed my taxes on Jan 23rd. My refund amount is 1159 but recently it shows my final refund amount as of 5109. What reasons would the expected refund amount go up ?

Where is it showing that? And where did you get the original amount of $1159 you mentioned? What is on line 35a of your Form 1040?
