I filed online. Then I got a 1099-Q form. I tried to amend it online. I entered the 1099-Q information. I used the amount as income, it is not. Help!

It is not income because I used the money for a "qualified education expense (college tuition) it did not ask me this!

Hello. You will not be able to amend yet because the  amendment form 1040x is not available until February.

First you will need to wait and see if your return is Accepted or Rejected by the IRS. If the return is Rejected you can go back in and fix the mistake without amending. If the return is Accepted you will need to WAIT until you receive your refund and then Amend.

Here is where to enter your 1099-Q:

Click Federal Taxes ( Personal Tab in Home and Business)

Choose Deductions and Credit

Select I'll choose what I work on

Scroll to the Education subgroup

Click start next to ESA and 529 qualified tuition programs.

Follow these steps to amend:
